does anybody know how farina granito is translated in english?
It's on a list of ingredients to make high quality gnocchi. Needs to be specifically this kind of "special flour"

This is the description that I found on an italian website:

La farina di grano tenero prodotta sotto forma di sfarinato granulare è denominata “granito”

neutral  Mailand: I can't disagree, but "stone ground" somehow implies a more "handmade" product, while "farina granito" is a "normal" industrial product, just less finely ground than "00" flour, maybe "coarse flour" - or that too much??

  -> the problem with just saying coarse is that "farina di tipo granita" can also be "00" (http://www.molinochiavazza.it/p_fp_10.html) so it refers more to the grinding process rather than coarseness
