agree  Chiara D'Andrea: or "with a hint of" bay leaf etc...
4 mins
  -> Thanks Chiara!

agree  Sara Maghini: Or "scented"!
5 mins
  -> Thanks Sara!

agree  Giuseppe Bellone: Isn't it better to hyphenate green-apple ? Or it might suggest that the pie itself is green! What do you think?
24 mins
  -> Thanks Giuseppe, that's a good point.

agree  Andrew Bramhall: Yes, 'with a hint of'
27 mins
  -> Thanks Oliver!

agree  Tom in London: if this is one of those pretentious menus, then a bit of pretentiousness in the translate would be appropriate.
34 mins
  -> Thanks Tom!

neutral  Catherine Bolton: Not "fragranced", and depending on your audience, it's called allspice and not clove pepper in the United States. Quick googling gives me 900 hits for "clove pepper" in the UK but 511K for allspice ...
38 mins
  -> Thanks cbolton!

neutral  Gisella Giarrusso: allspice is also very common in the UK
46 mins
  -> Thanks Gisella - see above!

agree  Lara Barnett: Really good translation but I really don't think it needs hyphenation, as suggested by Giuseppe Bellone - I knew instantly what it was saying.

  -> Thanks Lara!

disagree  Catherine Bolton: No, not clove, as the italian would have said "chiodi di garofano" instead of "pepe garofanato". I would venture to guess that GS apples is right, but without being sure green apples is safer.
7 mins
  -> I though that clove was a type of pepper, I stand corrected.

neutral  Holly Nathan (X): I like the granny smith bit but why does everybody assume it is a pie?
7 mins
  -> It could just as well be an apple tart. Yum

neutral  Shera Lyn Parpia: and what about the Golden Delicious variety and the wonderful "Renette" in Italy?
39 mins
  -> Those are not green apples

Granny Smith apple pie with hints of bay leaf and allspice

Explanation:
This seems to be the best guess here.

You could also say "green apple pie" but the green apples are generally called Granny Smith. I believe that alloro is "bay leaf" (laurel) and "pepe garofanato" is allspice.

Good luck!

Or it could even be a cake! Show us the recipe... it might, uh, prove to be useful. For research purposes and all. Yeah, that's it. ;-)
