In recipes it is very important not to confuse the different measurement units - sometimes it can transform a tasty food in something totally inedible. We generally use C to indicate a spoon and c to indicate a tea spoon.
Noone in Italy would say 'cucchiaino per il caffè' to indicate a little spoon. When we want to distinguish different measures of spoons we say: cucchiaio da minestra, cucchiaino da tè, cucchiaino da caffè, ....
Noone would abbreviate cucchiaino da caffè (or per il caffè) with c. per c..
