I'm sorry, but culinary is one of my specialisations and I would like to express my perplexity about the translations I've read here. First of all, in Uk, I always bought the raising powder. I've never seen the other verb in the common use. The baking powder is another thing. Then, if I say leavening product I refer to a specific product which helps the raising: a raising agent. If I say instead a product to be raised I mean that the product needs the raising process to be eaten. So, they express different concepts. But here we need to translate the second one: a product which needs raising. Sorry, but I would like to specify some substantial differences. |
