Ecco la spiegazione! |

at the current rate Explanation: "Over four years the market has declined/shrunk by 2% and lost 1.8% of its value; it won't be easy to overcome the crisis in 2015: even the figure for January has hit the same levels as before. Such a thing hasn't been seen since the immediate post-war years". As this is about economic growth (and decline) I'd leave off the traditional meaning of ' network' for ' rete', and go with 'rate' as the meaning is obvious. |

[See my suggestion for the whole thing] Explanation: We achieved total growth, including new outlets, of 2 percent. Excluding new outlets, we slightly outpaced the market. These two types of growth are known as organic and inorganic, and you could also use these terms in your translation. Organic growth is what you achieve by increasing your productivity; inorganic growth comes from opening new outlets or acquiring other businesses. I find it odd that they don't give a figure for sales excluding new outlets, unless that appears elsewhere in the text. |
