agree  Wendy Streitparth: Or accuracy and.... Just to avoid the two nesses

  -> I was tempted to suggest "propriety" but it wasn't quite the "mot juste", I thought. Anyway I think the two "nesses" are OK here.

agree  James (Jim) Davis: "Correctness and appropriateness of the language" would sound much more natural. The language in "one plus one is tow" is accurate but incorrect?

  -> I wouldn't. If the writer had intended it, they would have written "correttezza e proprietà del linguaggio" (and whether or not the translator likes the writer's choice of words, that's what has to be translated).

neutral  Michael Korovkin: IMCaHO, "proprietà" here has nothingto do with "correctness": Proprietà linguistica means "command of (the) language"
