Italian to English translations [PRO]
Education / Pedagogy / A program description of a new master\\\'s course of study
Italian term or phrase: responsabile scientifico
In the presentation of this new Master's, there are three persons whose roles are listed as "Direttore didattico" (director of studies, found on several websites), "Responsabile "Scientifico" and Tutor. Everybody knows that the responsabile scientifico is the big boss, but the Master's is in Music Publishing and has nothing to do with any sort of scientific study. Would just Director be okay in this case? Thanks. This has been published on the university website.

academic director

Explanation:
Academic Director or Academic Program Director are frequently used titles that might be close to what you need. That "scientifico" problem has cropped for me in the past and it is definitely problematic when there is really no science involved - - like a committee for an art exhibition for example in which case "academic," "advisory," or even "steering" is a better choice. In this case, maybe just Director is fine too!
