Docimology Explanation: Gabriella, I think "Docimology" is the right translation -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 ora (2016-04-03 10:51:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- See also: http://concorsodocenti.edizionisimone.it/pdf/9-test-for-stud... https://adlunap.ro/else/papers/069.-747.2.Tascovici%20Daliana_Evaluation%20as.pdf |

educational measurement Explanation: I hope you'll excuse the fact that my reference is to the French word "docimologie". "In English the word docimology is by definition “A treatise on the art of testing, as in assaying metals, etc” ,whereas in French the word docimologie has a more specific meaning: it is the scientific field of study related to the **analysis of tests and exam results** , and the ways or methods used by examiners to give marks or grades. Usually mathematics and statistics are used in this kind of study." This is supported by Gabriella's own reference: "Un ramo della pedagogia che si può collocare specificamente tra le tecniche sperimentali che si occupano dello studio dei sistemi di valutazione delle prove di verifica." I wouldn't use "docimology" as no one will understand what it means. All the Google hits for this word are translations. In English, it's called "educational measurement": "Educational measurement refers to the use of educational assessments and the analysis of data such as scores obtained from educational assessments to infer the abilities and proficiencies of students. The approaches overlap with those in psychometrics. Educational measurement is the assigning of numerals to traits such as achievement, interest, attitudes, aptitudes, intelligence and performance." I haven't found this particular course online, but since this person is a teacher it presumably it relates to techniques for evaluating creative writing, which may be more difficult than other subjects because it's so subjective. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2016-04-03 16:21:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://knowledgemix.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/a-note-about-do...
