certificate of lower secondary education Explanation: For this level of education in UK, we would only really use the term "certificate" to describe the qualification awarded. Also, just for info, this should also not be capitalised because it stands as a description of the the award/proficiency given that our systems are not similar. Additionally, you could even add a gloss to describe how this level of learning is equivalent to British school years 7,8 and 9. eg.
