Hi I would be very grateful for some help, I'm translating a university transcript for a degree in Industrial Design. One of the courses taken in 'Progettazione per l'abitare' - I am struggling with this. I literally translate it as Living Design, but should it be Interior Design? Any input appreciated!!

agree  Kimberly Ann Franch: as Industrial Design generally deals with manufacturing products, this could mean designing anything from a lighting fixture to a teapot to a toilet seat. I like "Design for Living Spaces" or "Design for Everyday Living" but YMMV.

Explanation:
Could this refer to the planning and design for social housing? That is, for solutions to create housing often for the more vulnerable groups in society, such as the elderly, lower-income, etc. The links I pasted into the web references show Italian websites addressing the issue. I am also including below a link below to Birmingham University's which has a course entitled "Design for Future Living", although this seems more broad.

Affordable Housing or Council Housing (BE) are similar, but they refer to past solutions and the university course in industrial design would certainly want to seem much more innovative than what those terms suggest, as they can have pejorative connotations.

A suggestion; not sure if this is what was actually studied!
