[suggestion for the whole sentence] Explanation: This doesn't work if you translate it literally, so I suggest something like "Rather, we need to rediscover/shed new light on/reevaluate the uniquely important social role of our human heritage." |

in Explanation: One must rather try and find a new social value in exploiting this heritage. The real problem is "fruizione". You could translate "that finds its expression" but it is wordy and unnecessary. Si deve, piuttosto, cercare di individuare una nuova valenza nell'inedita funzione sociale ***che si esplica*** nella fruizione di una eredità. |

that takes its shape Explanation: My try. :) In my opinion here: "si esplica" means si concretizza, prende forma; "funzione" has to be read as finalità, scopo; and in this context I would translate "fruizione" with "enjoyment". We should rather try to identify in the unexpected social purpose a new value that takes its shape in the enjoyment of a heritage. "That is achieved" is another option. |

which manifests in Explanation: Maybe this is one idea: "manifest (vb) ... verb (used with object) 3. to make clear or evident to the eye or the understanding; show plainly: He manifested his approval with a hearty laugh. 4. to prove; put beyond doubt or question: The evidence manifests the guilt of the defendant." http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/manifest "...that manifests in the realisation/achievement of our heritage." perhaps |
