Why do Italian lawyers have to write so "complicated"? Maybe they are competing with Italian doctors!!!

Can anyone give me a modern term for chirografo? Obviously the delivery date is not in days, but in hours .

Asker: to Tom and Phil: Don't we just love lawyers! thanks for your wonderful comments. I sit in the lawyer's office and he explains everything beautifully. I understand it perfectly. Pay him lots of money - then after I leave his office I say to myself "What was he talking about? What did he mean?" Well....

agree  philgoddard: That's the charitable interpretation. The uncharitable one is that they justify their high fees by pretending to be superior mortals who speak a different language to the rest of us.
