You can just say "if the cash balance at closing is positive, the sale price will be increased by this amount". It's perfectly possible for a company to have no cash holdings. Its assets could consist of other things, such as property, or interests in other companies. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 43 mins (2018-10-23 12:01:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Although the text doesn't say the company has a zero cash balance. It just says the purchase price assumes it's zero, but is increased by whatever cash there is. |
