(far valere) le riserve (rely upon, set up or plead) the reserved rights (caveats to entire performance) Explanation: I stand corrected and 'reserve judg(e)ment', but I don't think 'reservations' on its own works here. If using English as a bridging or 'relay' language to translate into another Romance language, like French or Spanish, then the asker should have less of a problem retranslating 'reserve(s)' literally. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2019-05-07 15:00:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Ultimately, yes IMO, with the 'reservation entered' of Italian as one of my non-core languages. But the opener refers to 'riserve in ordine alle prestazione eseguite', so surely to qualifications raised (bad weather, time off sick etc.) made to the prospective work services performed. I see, though from Garzanti etc., that prestazione - like the Spanish 'equivalent' of prestaciones - can connote financial benefits paid. Example sentence(s):

give an advance Explanation: I believe it is purely economic and it means to "advance monies" or give an advance , as suggested further in the text. |

reserved claims Explanation: I'm pretty sure this a reference to the "Riserve dell’appaltatore” under Article 190 of the "Codice degli Appalti Pubblici, entitled “Eccezioni e riserve dell’esecutore sul registro di contabilità” (see first reference below). Essentially, the “appaltatore” (contracting client), when signing off on the work reports produced by the “direttore dei lavori" (project manager), can do so “con o senza riserve", where “riserve” refers to the right to make claims for compensation that the “appaltatore” is unable to quantify at the time of signing off on the work. The “appaltatore” then has 15 days to enter its claims in the project records, specifying the amounts it believes it is entitled to and the grounds for each claim. https://www.consulenzalegaleitalia.it/appalto-pubblico-riserve-appaltatore/ Reference: http://www.virginiadot.org/business/resources/APD_Docs/RFP/1... |
