agree  Adrian MM.: but not devise unless of land: the term of 'legacy' needs to be watched in Roman civil-law systems. That's why gift is often a safer option.

  -> Thank you Adrian. Based on other posts about this source text, I think there's land & other. And it's holographic so the court would have to cut the testator some slack.
