Italian term or phrase: Colpisce nel segno
Hi everyone, I'm in need of a little brainstorming for this specific text, so I'm really grateful for any help or any suggestions received.
The phrase relates to a line of jewellery (recently updated to also include key rings) which has zodiac signs inscribed on each piece, and the source text plays on the word "segno" to mean "colpire nel segno" (in general terms, i.e. to hit the mark) and "segno zodiacale".
The phrases that play on the word segno are:
"Il gioiello che colpisce nel segno" (the general slogan)
"Il gioiello che colpisce nel segno....del leone/della vergine/dell'ariete etc." (a phrase that appears each month on the company's website, indicating the zodiac sign for the month on a given piece of jewellery).
Does anyone have any idea as to how I could word this so the play on the word "segno" carries across to the English version as well??

Again, many thanks to everyone for any input you may have.
Cheers
canguro

"Jewellery written in the stars".
"Jewellery written in the stars...of the Leo/Scorpio/etc constellation".

"Written in the stars" means that something is meant to be, has been decided in advance. Perhaps this meaning can be expanded to suggest that (potential) clients are meant to be wearing this jewellery, that it's part of their destiny and so forth.

Plays nicely into the astrology side of star-signs, too :-)

Ok, so I went with "Jewellery that leaves its mark, in the sign of....." as all the helpful suggestions seemed to stray a little away from the original concept, but I'm giving you the points Wolf for your answer because I like what it evokes. Thanks everyone for helping me brainstorm!

Asker: Interesting take! Thanks Wolf. Much appreciated!

Asker: Definitely plays well as far as the astrological aspect is concerned. The thing is, though, that the main slogan needs to also relate to the other jewellery collections the company makes, and these aren't related to anything astrological as such. They're just normal necklaces, bracelets, pendants etc without any astrological inscriptions. I also have "Jewellery that leaves a sign" bouncing around in my head as a possible idea. Not sure though if it sounds right.

Asker: Hi Dandamesh, thanks for getting back to me so fast with your helpful suggestion! What I forgot to add in my description is that the company (and the products it makes) is rather upscale, and so having "Jewellery that hits the bull's eye" as a general slogan is probably a little too "crude"/"grezzo" in terms of what the company is looking for. So far the only thing I can come up with is to drop the play on the word "segno" and simply have the main slogan as: "Jewellery that hits the mark" and the other phrase translated as "Jewellery that hits the mark under/in the sign of Leo/Virgo/Aries". Still looking for other ideas though!

Asker: When brainstorming, EVERYTHING is helpful Dandamesh, so definitely no need to appologize! Thanks again.

Asker: That would be "apologize"...typo!

To be born "under the star of...." is a common expression, I think it would work here. This is an example of its usage:

"it must be assumed that within this group of people born under the sign of Pisces there are old and young people, women and women etc."

My idea for "shine under the light of" is a combination of the common expression "to be born under a sign" and the shine effect of a jewel in the light such as:

"Lighting of Peridot
Peridot is not dependent on light as the red and blue gems. It is likely to SHINE AND LOOK GOOD UNDER ALL LIGHTS. Even after the sundown, the color of the stone does not get darken."

fits your character

Explanation:
Zodiacal signs are used to talk about a person's character, and this seems to be a good fit for a marketing campaign based on that idea. You can then include the individual sign's feature to say "fits your active character" and so on. It would be worth making a list of feature(s) for each sign to see how they fit they phrase.

agree  Wolf Draeger: Good idea; don't Zodiac signs describe your personality rather than your character? Maybe something like "Jewellery suited/cut for a unique personality", which could then be expanded for the various signs.

-> Appreciate your comments, Wolf. Are personality / character not interchangeable ? That is a question for another day, I think.
