hotel di charme

Hello everyone.
The hotels are located in the North of Italy, close to the Swiss border, in the Alpes. Unfortunately I have very little context, let alone any pictures. I think Giles' suggestion is right on. For the moment I will go with "boutique-style 'hôtels de charme', I'll think it through and perhaps change it to something less wordy eventually.

In French, the two categories are distinguished:

The difference between "hotel de charme" and "boutique hotel" ought to be that the former are small, exclusive, extra-urban and preferably historic and while the latter are small, exclusive, urban and distinctive but if you google for Italian examples of both, you will see that the categories overlap considerably. "Boutique hotel" is more widely used in English so whether you go for that or "hotel de charme" French option will depend on your audience.

Or you could cover all the bases with something like "boutique-style 'hôtel de charme'".

do you know where these hotels are and what size or type they are? "Boutique" hotels are quite a specific type...and may not be correct here
