accurate contact Explanation: Not the most literal translation: I'm trying to give you the idea the writer wanted to convey. "Buono" in Italian refers to both taste and spirit. The wordplay wants to say that the contact is "intimate" (physically good contact, for best cleaning) and "having nice/agreeable taste". This being a marketing text, the idea goes even further, including the word "cure" in the term chosen, to obtain the mental association: toothpaste=cleaning=cure=health. "Accurate" seems to me to reproduce all levels of the wordplay in Italian. HTH |

good contact Explanation: I can't see that this can mean anything else but just what they are saying. If they meant nice, they would has said "bel" if they meant "pleasant" they would have said "gradevole". I suppose they mean that it sticks well to the inside of your mouth that it adheres well as opposed to being thorough in its action or impacting dirt or care for the mouth. A Google on it comes up with horse riding and pulling on the bit in the horses mouth. |
