I'm translating an essay about the Italian TV programme "Fuori Orario" by Enrico Ghezzi. The author analyses the relationship between images and background music in a number of episodes.

Here's some context:
"La struttura di queste analisi vuole arrivare ad una contestualizzazione delle *formule musicali* in televisione all’interno di un programma creato per quest’ultima, alimentato proprio dalle sue forze e peculiarità, analizzando così qual è la forma che la televisione può dare alla realtà musicale".

"Altro elemento da tenere in considerazione è l’immagine vista dal cameraman nell’obiettivo della macchina da presa, la quale non corrisponde esattamente a quella riportata sullo schermo, con tutto quello che l’oggettività o la soggettività comportano nella produzione di una *formula televisiva di musica*, o nella semplice trasmissione di quest’ultima"

"Fra la vastità del materiale di Fuori Orario si sono scelte le seguenti puntate come esempi dell’evoluzione delle *forme musicali* nel contesto televisivo".

I'm not sure about 'musical formula' in English; on the other hand, "musical form" sounds much closer to "musical genre", but I may be wrong. I'm thinking about "musical composition" but I'm really struggling with the "formula televisiva".
