subito

English translation: immediately downstream

Medical - Medical: Cardiology
Italian term or phrase: subito
This is a description of the findings from a coronary angiogram:

"Stenosi critica del RIVA medio (70-90%) subito a valle dello stent precedente (IFR = 0.87), trattata con PTCA/DES"

I'm really struggling to work out what "subito" means in this context - any ideas would be great! My best guess would be that it means that the stenosis is "immediately" downstream of the previous stent but would like confirmation if so.

Explanation:
While I realise the references I have posted may be somewhat more "scientific" than your report (flow dynamics studies), your text says "a valle", and I see no reason to use "downstream" as you suggest, perfectly acceptable IMO.

"Our simulations have revealed the presence of flow separation and recirculation immediately downstream of stents."

"Wall shear stress (WSS) distribution in the same stented artery. An extended area of low WSS is seen immediately downstream of the stent at the outer artery wall due to the change in curvature."

"Velocity profiles downstream of minor (≤40%) and moderate (40% to 65%) stenoses were skewed with the highest systolic velocities toward the anterior vessel wall and diastolic flow reversal occasionally present at the posterior vessel wall."

-> Thanks Ivana! In fact stenosi is feminine so it would have to be "subita" if it were a verb.
