Thanks for the input on videat - I was trying to be so careful and follow rules and ask for help with a single term! Which is why I specifically asked for help with the acronym that was hard for me to figure out.
Joseph, I think I will go with your suggestion. Would you like to post it as an answer so I can award points and also get it into the proz glossary?

Looking in my glossary, I have "assessment" and "examination" for possible meanings of videat ... but I think "visit" would work well, too. Videat comes from the Latin verb "videre" (to see) and "visit" also relates to seeing (as in vision and invisible).

Acromed has an entry for CESC: "Centro di Elettrostimolazione Cardiaca. " Possibly in your text they mean Centro di Elettrostimolazione, leaving off the Cardiaca part since it's obvious from the context? This is a good possibility given that we're talking about electrical stimulation of the heart from the ICD.
