fibrin adhesive material/fibrin glue Explanation: I'm no specialist, but I think this could be it. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 mins (2005-02-05 22:19:39 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.medicine.ox.ac.uk/ohc/fibglue.htm One area in haemophilia care where glues are finding application is dental surgery. I know of one haemophilia centre in the UK where dental extraction is routinely covered with topical application of fibrin glue alone, without the apparent requirement for any coagulation factor. There is no doubt that fibrin glues will be used increasingly in the next few years, but usage will by no means be confined to patients with bleeding disorders. Such products are likely to be used widely, particularly in the setting of cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and neuro-surgery. http://www.baxter.fr/htdocs/bioscience/produits/tissucol.htm... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2005-02-05 22:20:25 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.chirurgiatoracica.org/colla_di_fibrina.htm La nostra tattica chirurgica dal 1985 si è avvalsa della colla di fibrina umana (Tissucol) in quei casi in cui abbia significato di elemento curativo primario o negli interventi in cui vengano individuati ipotetici fattori di rischio per la sutura -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2005-02-05 22:20:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- good luck! |
