I am unsure of the nuance to use here. In this biographical excerpt apart from mentioning the Rome is this subjects birthplace (1949), this is the only other reference to Roma. The subject is an immigrant from Italy to Canada. I am unsure if is is suggesting he supported the Rome football team, or if is simply saying that he lived in honour of it in some way.
