Italian term or phrase: unità dislocante
This is also from an incident report filed by a ship's captain, and the phrase occurs twice. The ship has had to stop its engine because a fishing net is tangled up in its propellers.

(I told the chief engineer to stop the engine) per effetuare tutte le verifiche tecniche con unità dislocante al fine di capire la causa del problema.

(I told the passengers we would be delayed) perché bisognava procedere a velocità ridotta con unità dislocante e non più sulle ale.

I'm wondering if it could be a pompous way of saying something very simple, because elsewhere he refers to transferring the passengers to another "unità sociale", which from the context apparently refers to another ship owned by the same company.

it is another mariners term of saying with the prop disengaged. Motor is running (idling) but prop is not engaged

Explanation:
I know that dislocamento is displacement for ships - I believe it is the amount of water the body of the vessel displaces. It may simply be a sophisticated way of saying boat/vessel/ship or the like.
