additional parenting Explanation: You are right, it's parallel parenting as you mentioned and "additional parenting". Many hits on Google. http://www.bluefishtv.com/Store/Books_and_Workbooks/2009/Add... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 10 mins (2009-01-30 14:52:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q="additional pa... |

co-parenting or shared-parenting Explanation: Just a suggestion. As a single parent I have read masses of books on parenting and these terms are the first which come to mind. Maybe also something like "mentorship" etc if it does not involve the actual parent or "guardianship". There are quite a few google hits for "additional parenting" too but haven't got time to investigate them for you now. It refers to the role of parent so could be used even for other people. I found this below which may be of use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coparenting It should not to be confused with biparentality, term used in Biology and Genetics to designate the genetic inheritance of a living being from both parents. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 days41 mins (2009-02-02 15:23:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- You could also change the phrase around and use "parenting support". |
