La presenza crescente di famiglie migranti che hanno concezioni tradizionali della patria potestà differenti da quelli che noi riconosciamo, mette fortemente in discussione i principi su cui si basa la tradizione filosofica e giuridica occidentale relativa all'idea di responsabilità e dell’*agire morale e giuridico* verso i figli.

Maybe I'm just tired, but I can't get my head around this.
Initially, I translated "agire morale e giuridico" with "moral and legal behaviour (towards one's children)". However, after browsing through the Net, I realised that "agire giuridico" does not exactly mean behaviour as such. Then I opted for "legal actions towards one's children", but that can easily lead to some dangerous misunderstandings. What do you think it means exactly? How would you translate it? THANKS!
