Italian term or phrase: deltaplano vs. parapendio
Hi folks, I've just looked this up in my own dictionary and then checked Eurodicautom, which gives both terms as "hang-gliding".
The problem crops up in this sentence:
Per i più avventurosi è possibile praticare sport come il parapendio e il free climbing o lasciarsi trasportare dal vento con un deltaplano.

I'm not into jumping off the sides of mountains, so I've got NO idea what the difference in terms would be.

TIA, and I hope you gliders are behind your desks and not atop mountains right now.

Thank you all. Sarah's explanation was the clearest to me (and apparently to all the "agrees"). As someone whose idea of extreme sports is keeping my computer turned off on a Sunday, I certainly appreciate all your input!
