Gentili membri di Proz, mi trovo in difficoltà nel dover tradurre alcuni termini specifici dell'ambito sportivo e spero vivamente voi possiate aiutarmi.
Come vedete si tratta di una traduzione italiano-inglese e nonostante noi tutti sappiamo quali siano le regole di traduzione riguardo la L1 e la lingua target, purtoppo non sono nella condizione di poter rifiutare l'incarico. Inoltre essendo studentessa tirocinante non posso nemmeno fare leva su esperienze pregresse e competenze testate e consolidate.

Si tratta del nome di uno sport ancora poco praticato, il BASKIN. Il nome deriva da Integrated Basketball; il mio compito è tradurne la scheda tecnica da inserire poi all'interno di un sito web. Ora la domanda è: Baskin deve essere preceduto o no dall'articolo det. THE?
A inizio pagina il titolo sarebbe Il BASKIN: è rendibile con THE BASKIN? Il fatto è che non riesco a capire in che misura questo termine sia da considerare una sorta di nome proprio (Integrated Basketball) oppure una pratica sportiva (se mettessi solo Baskin senza art. resterebbe sottinteso "game of").

Premetto che non sono uno sportivo e che non conosco cosa sia il Baskin ma secondo me se al posto di "Il Baskin" ci fosse "Il Calcio" lo dovresti tradurre come "Football" senza nessun articolo davanti. Quindi meterei solo "Baskin" anche senza "game of", sta poi alla scheda esplicativa spiegare cosa sia e come si giochi.
