a hard-earned victory
Explanation:
This expression came to mind as being close to the meaning of the Italian and it should work as we are talking about a victory that wasn't easily achieved

Collins

A hard-earned victory or hard-earned cash is a victory or money that someone deserves because they have worked hard for it.
Whoever lifts the trophy will know that theirs has been a hard-earned victory.

Notes to answerer
Asker: could I say 'a feat in itself'?

neutral  philgoddard: I would have thought all victories are feats.

-> Oh, I am sure there are some victories that are easily achieved and cannot be called feats. However, this has little to do with the translation. Or do you believe this is not what the Italian author meant?

disagree  Tom in London: in my opinion this suggestion strays too from the actual text and wanders off in a different direction

the family business

Explanation:
"Or the tradition of the Caffi family, with a victory that had something of the family business about it, gained by Angelo in 1965 at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo Giulia...."

AGAIN, this is FAR FROM IDEAL but it would be my first stab at it if I were doing the translation. I would come back to it and improve it. Over to you, Penny !

truly exceptional victory

Explanation:

with Angelo's truly exceptional victory in 1965
or
with Angelo's unprecedented win in 1965
or something like that

Hi Penny
In consideration of the rest of the text you’ve posted
If the first win is by Angelo in 1965, this win isn’t in family tradition as it’s the first one that sets the trend, followed by Alex in 2005 and 2011, with another “family” win in 2018.
Try something along these lines
Angelo's truly exceptional victory in 1965 at the wheel of his Alfa Romeo Giulia made the Caffi name something to be reckoned with, with Alex following in his footsteps in 2005 and 2011…

“Impresa” in this context clearly means an exceptional feat, and has nothing to do with a family business/enterprise.

impresa (1)
2 (azione gloriosa) feat; exploit; deed: impresa eroica, heroic feat; le imprese di Rolando, the exploits of Roland
