Plush / artificial/synthetic/faux fur Explanation: I think you need to get a picture of the fabric and exact style of hat (could be a beanie or a sort of 'Russian hat'). A hat in loop knit fabric would be odd, and based on the description of soffice e vaporoso, I'm guessing this is plush or faux fur. However, it is a bit odd because plush/faux fur is a weave with pile, not a knit, though using maglia to mean both in Italian isn't unheard of.
