L’elso ha i bracci allungati e ringrossati verso gli estremi e la guardia è arricciata al sommo. Pomolo in acciaio a forma sferica con basettina e bottone. Lama in acciaio a tallone sodo e sezione esagonale. Impugnatura il legno fasciato di filo di ferro ritorto e treccine in filo di ottone. Lunghezza totale cm 111. Peso gr. 1400 RAPIER. Early Seventeenth Century. Hilt with knuckle-guard branching on both sides to be connected with the Pas d'Ane'. Straight quillons and triple ring guard. Plain spherical steel pommel with button. Wooden grip bound with twisted iron and brass wire. Steel blade of diamond section with strong ricasso. Length overall 111cm. Son nom vient de l’espagnol « espada ropera », épée à vêtements. Elle est dotée d’une garde hémisphérique, pleine ou constituée d’un entrelacement de tiges d’acier, ornée, protégeant le manche mais aussi quelques pouces au-delà du quillon pour protéger l’index qui doit s’y placer, sa lame est longue et fine, flexible, ne permettant que les coups d’estoc.
