Ciao a tutti!
Sto traducendo un articolo di giornale dove si parla dell'ennesimo attentato in Iraq. L'articolo usa la parola "locale" come iperonimo/sinonimo di "ristorante". Ma in francese noi possiamo riferirci a un ristorante definendolo "un local"?
Ecco il contesto:
"Un kamikaze si fa esplodere in un locale frequentato da iraniani".
Secondo me no. Quale sostantivo generico useremmo?

Je ne crois pas, établissement, ce n'est pas comme écrire "bâtiment".
Si tu associes le mot restaurant et établissement dans un moteur de recherche, tu trouveras de nombreuses références qui te le confirmeront:
par exemple:

Asker: Salut Cathie! Oui, j'y avais pensé, mais j'ai l'impression que ce n'est pas ce qu'on utiliserait ici."Etablissement" me semble trop générique. C'est comme si en italien je disais " Un kamikaze si fa esplodere in un *edificio* frequentato da iraniani" pour me référer au restaurant. Ne risque-t-on pas de changer le sens de la phrase? (c'est seulement la sensation que j'ai eue en lisant ta proposition, tu peux naturellement me corriger)

agree  Giovanni57: Je crois que "resto" ce serait préférable juste pour donner du 'ton' à l'article (la différence entre l'horreur de la bombe et ce que de bon et amical nous dit le simple mot "resto"), mais bien sur "établissement" c'est parfait
