La phrase est assez longue et mériterait d’être «coupée» pour que le lecteur puisse «respirer». A la reprise de cette seconde phrase, le mot «intérêt» est repris avec un synonyme «attrait».

Une suggestion :

Il ne fait aucun doute qu'en Italie et surtout dans le Frioul, l'intérêt actuel pour la Russie et la Sibérie a commencé à croître vers le début des années 60 avec l'apparition du film «Le Docteur Jivago» basé sur le roman du même nom de Boris Pasternak. Cet attrait s’est confirmé avec l’éminent roman d’Alexandre Soljenitsyne, «l’'Archipel du Goulag».
