Areshügel (s.u.) Explanation: Das Wort „Areopag“ kommt von Areios Pagos und bedeutet Areshügel. Im Altertum tagte dort das oberste Gericht, dort wurde Gericht gehalten. Es ist eine Metapher für ein Hohes Gericht, das mit kühlem sein Urteil über die künstlerische Leistung fällen wird, das zu Gericht sitzt über das Dargebotene und sein unerbittliches Urteil fällen wird. Entweder nimmst Du den Areshügel mit in Deine Übersetzung – "... im kühlen Blick eines Publikums, das sich zusammengefunden hat, um von seinem Areshügel (herab) sein Urteil zu fällen ..." – oder Du übersetzt die Metapher "Areshügel" und nimmst so etwas wie Hohes Gericht, zu Gericht sitzen ... – "... unter dem kühlen Blick eines Publikums, das zusammengekommen ist, um über ... zu Gericht zu sitzen". Das so meine ersten Gedanken auf die Schnelle. Hoffe, es hilft. |
