L’informazione di garanzia, meglio conosciuta con l’indicazione impropria utilizzata di solito dai mess media di “avviso di garanzia”, è l’atto con il quale il Pubblico Ministero informa l’indagato ed anche la persona offesa dell’addebito provvisorio mosso alla persona sottoposta alle indagini nonchè delle norme di legge che si intendono violate, della data e del luogo del fatto assunto come criminoso con il contestuale invito a nominare un difensore di fiducia.
