Secondo il DRAE: f. Fruto del azufaifo. Es una drupa elipsoidal, de poco más de un centímetro de largo, encarnada por fuera y amarilla por dentro, dulce y comestible. Se usaba como medicamento pectoral."
Si trova nell'espressione "andare in brodo di giuggiole" con il senso di "extasiarse", "arrobarse", "embelesarse". Più o meno. :)
