beams using wall finish / matched-to-wall finished beams (or columns) Explanation: Actually, we have the same thing in our condo. There's a beam that is in the corner of the living room that's painted to match the walls and ceiling (so it isn't too obtrusive and blends in with the rest of the interior)...It can't be removed because it's a structural beam. From my understanding, "pilasters" are another thing altogether which are decorative "half" columns and are not necessarily of the same finish.
