Science - Astronomy & Space
Japanese term or phrase: スリット内保持観測
Another term from information on satellite observations (of other planets, from Earth orbit). I understand that the terms means that the planet is kept in the slit's field of view during observations, but I'm looking for the term in English used to express this.

Thank you again for any help.

FOV observation

Explanation:
スリット内保持 indicates that a field-of-view ("FOV") guide camera is used. It is probably understood that the planet is observed using a field-of-view guide camera if you just say "FOV observation", considering it's a norm in the field of astronomy to use an FOV guide.
