Japanese term or phrase: 懐かしい思い出やあなたとの毎日
Dear ProZ members,

I'm translating a song, and I have a grammatical doubt. The song says:

目を閉じれば
胸の中に映る
懐かしい思い出やあなたとの毎日

That's how I read it: "When I close my eyes, nostalgic memories and all the days I spent with you are shown in my heart".
To me, や ("and") connects 懐かしい思い出 and あなたとの毎日.

However, do you think this verse could actually mean "nostalgic memories OF ALL the days I spent with you"? It sounds a bit more natural and reasonable to me, and knowing that Japanese grammatic is quite elastic in songs I was wondering if it could be the case.

Thank you!

English translation:fond memories and days that I spent with you
Explanation:
Your first interpretation is the right one.
The exact counterpart for や does not exist in English. It is basically "and" but it could also mean "or" and it also implies that this is not an exhaustive list (AやB implies there may be C and D). The poet is just listing what comes up in his/her mind but there may be (in this case quite likely) other things that the poet remembers.
毎日 is not quite "all the days" here. It simply refers to "days" and it could be replaced with 日々 without changing the meaning.
胸の中に映る is literally "are shown in my heart" as you say, but this is an expression to say "I remember."
