Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers: Systems, Networks / router-like device
Japanese term or phrase: 対向拠点
Literally, "opposite base" but I'm pretty sure this is equivalent to a remote address. The text does not specify exactly what it would be. Is there a better "neutral translation" for this term, one that doesn't specify device type? Or should I stick with "remote address."?

Thanks.

Explanation:
Kokai 2002-290450 was also published as US 2002136239 (A1) and there (paragraph [0013] of the Japanese, [0033] of the English) they have translated the term as counter base.

Example sentence(s):
  • ... acquires a base identifier indicating a base (hereinafter referred to as "counter base") where the terminal indicated by the co-caller identifier is accommodated.
