primary care physician Explanation: A set of skills and scope of practice may define a primary care physician, generally including basic diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses and medical conditions.[1] Diagnostic techniques include interviewing the patient to collect information on the present symptoms, prior medical history and other health details, followed by a physical examination.. www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primary_care_physician |

consulting physician Explanation: I think "consulting physician" could work here if the target audience is the US. It would have the nuance of consulting the opinion of another doctor but would depend on context. In British English a consultant has the meaning of "attending physician" (指導医) so you would have to use some discretion. Reference: http://ejje.weblio.jp/content/%E9%A1%A7%E5%95%8F%E5%8C%BB%E5... |
