Japanese term or phrase: 項稜
Hello everyone,

I am currently translating an article for publication on a surgical procedure performed on a dog and there are a few terms that are giving me trouble. I am having particular trouble with 項稜. I was only able to find very few references for this term. Some of those findings led me to pages were either taken down or that I could not even access. I think the term may mean "nuchal crest," but I am not sure.

Context:
皮下剥離を頭方は前頭骨頭側端部まで,側方は頬骨突起背側及び耳介まで,尾方は項稜まで進めた.

Thank you for your help.

English translation:nuchal crest
Explanation:
In the link below (you should click the last line to unfold and see the whole content), nuchal crest is 목덜미 능선 in Korean, which means "neck crest line". 項 is '목' or '목덜미' in Korean, so I am sure it refers to the nuchal crest.

agree  chris_k: Hi I am a vet (reg'd in Japan, grad'd fr Australian Uni) and I've confirmed with J Vet. textbook ;) The original Japanese seems a bit strange, with the words like 側方、尾方(not wrong, I suppose..). 外側、尾側 far more commonly used.
