code/serial number Explanation: Hi:) The example you give is about a digital sphygmomanometer by Omron Healthcare Inc, insnt it? Although there are precise words for code/serial number in Japanese, in this case I would translate 承知番号 like this first because of the context and second because of the 承知する's meaning as "know" - i.e. the number through which the product is being known or recoginzed, which, as far as I know, is the serial/code number. Just a suggestion:) |

approval number Language variant: registration number Explanation: In this context, I think 承知 means 承諾, not 識別. If so, it is the approval number given by the corresponding regulatory body. If we allow (承知:-) a little flight, we could think it the 'registration number'. (it is just a flight though). |
