Absolutely I wouldn't disagree with you in regards to internet abuse and copyright invasion. In this particular case, this is not as such. The majority of the boardies, including myself, have already bought the novels in Japanese despite not knowing the language. The purchase was purely because we were fans. This particular story is very unlikely it will ever be translated in any other language so that leaves non-Japanese fans trying between them to decipher the novel. Whatever amateur passage translation the boardies make, is non-reproducible and is prohibited to leave the private area of the forum. Having said that, I too agree that everyone should be vigilant of any suspicious activity of copyright invasion.

But about any chance of copyright invasion. Internet is such a tool where individuals can use or abuse any various way. If such abuse was found there are consequences but what if it us not found? Nowadays such illicit groups do anything so that they cannot be tracked down. For an example there are stalkers who swap their targets so that they won't be traced. This is an unrelated matter but I am pointing out how internet can be abused.
I just want to make a warning although it may be obvious for majority.

I can honestly vouch that we do not participate in any copy right invasion what so ever. The discussion are between registered members, in private, and it more like a hobby for non speaking Japanese fans, than anything else. However, if there is any doubt, I will remove the sentence. Whether someone else asked something similar I would not know. I am registered with Proz for many years, and it is the first time I asked a literature translation question.
