in search of one's reason for existence Explanation: To be honest up until this moment I didn't know this term. Therefore the hint to my answer here is inspired by what Saito-san is quoting ... この死の自覚からさらに自分の生の意味をもう一度捉えなおし、再構成する試みが始まる。 この試みは「投企」と呼ばれる。 If that's the meaning of this jargon (which I wholeheartedly agree), I can only arrive this translation. To me other answers do not seem reflecting the philosophical depth of this very peculiar terminology. HTH |
