実況/解説

English translation: commentary/analysis

Japanese to English translations [PRO]
Sports / Fitness / Recreation / Football/Soccer commentary
Japanese term or phrase: 実況/解説
This is within the context of commentary during a football/soccer match.

実況: Mr. A
解説: Mr. B and Mr. C

I have translated '解説' as 'commentators/commentary' (as in 解説者) and '実況' as 'announcer' (as in 実況アナウンサー). Are these two distinct roles? If so, how do they differ.

Are there more approproate translations?

English translation:commentary/analysis
Explanation:
In a typical English football broadcast, you have the commentators giving a moment by moment description of what's actually happening, and then, for example at half-time, a more detailed analysis of events, tactics, etc. from a studio panel. Whether that fits your situation or not I don't know.

agree  Ben Price: I think 'announcer' is the Japanese use of English in this case.

broadcaster or reporter /(guest) commentator

Explanation:
In this case I think these words indicate people's titles. According to the text shown, I think Mr A seems to be the "broadcaster" or "reporter" who gives details moment by moment, and Mr. B and Mr. C are two panels who can give more professional insight to the scenes. Those are sometimes called "guest commentators" as they are highly regarded in the filed of sport or if they are not normally doing that kind of job.

I think you can use panel commentators (as there are more than one commentator) too.

日本のスポーツ番組では"analysis"なんてことはやりませんね。アナウンサーが実況中継をして、ゲスト・コメンテイター(通例は著名な元プロスポーツ選手)が時々解説的なことを述べるだけです。
