Japanese term

ワンポイント

Japanese to English Marketing Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
This appears in a product description for a hair barrette. It says it can be used as a "ワンポイントアクセント" and is also useful for arranging hair (obviously). I know we wouldn't say "one-point" in English, but is there a natural-sounding equivalent? Or should I just omit it?

Statement (hair) accessory

I guess "hair" can be omitted in the text, context permitting.
Peer comment(s):

agree Port City : This is brilliant. By using this expression, it flows well with what follows (the practical aspect for arranging hair) because most statement accessories are used only to make a fashion statement with.

main

"ワンポイント" is Janglish. It means" main". "focus" or "center" to catch attention. You can omit it and translate only "accent" since "accent" is the place to catch attention.

Focal point

In design field, this term is commonly used to describe 'Center of attention'. I think this expression can be also applied to this case too..something like; A focal point of your hair (or fashion) style today...etc.
