The term appears in a post-graduate degree issued by the Irish Royal College of Surgeons (part of the National University of Ireland). The text reads: "testantur hae litterae Diploma Post Baccalaureatum in Scientia Nosocomendi in Collegio Regali Chirurgorum in Hibernia...delatum esse". All the rest is clear except for "nosocomendi".

agree  Joseph Brazauskas: Correct. 'Nosokomein' means 'to tend the sick' at Diodorus Siculus 14.71, as elsewhere. Cf. LSJ s.v.

  -> Of course, but in Greek, not in Latin. To my knowledge nosokomein doesn't have a gerund ;-).
