Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s)
Latin term or phrase: ex ambiguitate lux ambigua oritur
This is an adage cited in a French article about the law of the sea. This appears after the point is made that a particular clause in the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea is difficult to interpret and most likely will become clear only when implemented.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

out of equivocation arises an equivocal elucidation

Explanation:
'Lux' is here used in a metaphorical sense, cf. Cicero, de oratore, 2.9.36: 'historia testis temporum, lux veritatis', 'history, a witness for the ages, the elucidation of the truth'.
