for everyone and for each one Explanation: Although I am not well versed in Catholic traditions, apparently this is the response to an optional blessing of the celebrant after mass. It is sometimes said in the sacristy to the acolytes: PRIEST: Prosit. RESPONDERS: Pro omnibus et singulis. I note that, if the phrase is "pro omnibus et singulis", then the phrase is ablative. If the 'pro' is omitted, the Latin syntax is more classical and the phrase is dative case (in Latin dative and ablative plurals are always identical in form). |
